OK, I'm pretty sure somebody's gonna know this one, but here goes. A man has a duck, a fox, and a bag of corn that he has to get to the other side of the river. His boat can only carry himself and one of the three. If left alone, the fox would eat the duck and the duck would eat the corn. How does he get them all across safely?
Put the duck in the boat and bring him to the other side, than go back and pick up the fox and bring him to the other side but bring the duck back across with you than leave him on the side he started on while bringing the corn to the other side than go back and pick the duck back up and bring him back to the other side.
BigdaddyII, I used to live in Slidell right on a bayou. It was '68/'69 I think...Hurricane Andrew came through and there was fish jumping on the back porch.
Why not strap the corn to the duck and then tie the duck to the boat and put the fox in the boat to growl at the duck and make 'em swim and pull the boat?
Now the guy don't even have to paddle, hehehehehehe.
Darn! Tell the truth...did you figure it out or have you heard it before?
I have heard it before many times. The only thing I hate about living in the southern part of Louisiana is the damn hurricanes. I hate having to pack up everything I deem valuable and run a couple times a year. Granted, I get twice the vacation most other people get but it is not as fun when you are wondering the whole time whether you should call the place you are at vacation or home. On a side note though, the wife and I are fixing to move and we are looking around Slidell and the Westbank. Either there or Lafayette, it dosent matter to me, either direction will be fine. Where are you staying at nowadays? Time for another beer
Good "riddle" but I heard it a loooong time ago, in school. Thanks for reminding me. I'll have to ask my granddaughters that one. Keep 'em comin'. Anybody got an idea when the stripers hit the Nolichuckey River in TN ?
Don't know 'bout TN, George, but there's lots of stripers out here in CA. Almost every city has 'em now. San Francisco has LOTS of 'em! It's one of the reasons I don't go there.
Keepin' it reel - Around here (east TN) the stripers run about the same time as the dogwood trees bloom, which is soon. My boat has a chant that I can hear. It says,"Wet me. Wet me." It's been too dry too long. Happy fishn', grill 1 for me.
