what are the copper washers for in the kit.thanks for all the advice.

Copper washers go under the injectors.

Pulling the injectors is not necessary when just replacing the return lines. If you need to pull the injectors, it's necessary to replace the injector washers, and often necessary to replace at least the o-rings. The kit covers both cases.

For now, just save the washers.
