I have a '67 F100 Ranger that has manual breaks. How hard is it to swap to power breaks? And how hard is it to switch to disc breaks? Is this something that takes alot of mechanical skills? And is this a job that you could do in a weekend? The donor truck is a '74 F100, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Kbak
You have come to the right place, as for doing in a weekend it could be done,
but its always nice to allow your self more time, and make sure you research
it first! When you get the parts from your donor truck get all the parts you need!
Thats a great article Pro-Street/StateTK, I wish I would have had that when I did mine. Hey kbak, I don't know if you will run in to this with the '74 but I switched my front drums out with a '78 F150 and found that the front spindles were almost 2"s farther out on each side, which with my rims made it look a little odd. But I also needed the rear end due to mine being shot, which stuck the rear wheeles out 2"s on each side as well. Made everything match right up. I did mine in about 3 days for both front and rear so you should be able to do your front end in about 1 to 2 days without any problems, and you will love what it does for your truck.
