Trying to help out a nephew,

The Rear end is suppose to be out of a '88 T-Bird, and is suppose to be a positive traction unit.

The Tage on the rear end reads:

V487B
2L73758025

I'm no expert but here goes. The number on the top line is Ford's build code and version for the rear. On the second line, 2L73 means that it is a 2.73 limited slip rear. I think the 75 means it is a 7.5" rear and the remainder is the build date by day month and year - 8 Feb *5.
