I'v decided in the non winter months i want some performance tires for my truck....it is a 95 regcab shortbed 4x4....i'd get a 2nd set of rims with some 31's on them for the snow and whenever i wana go off-roading but i'd like a sporty tire for the road. maby the stock size (235 75 r15)...Anyone have any ideas or run a tire like what i describe?...doesnt have to be stock size.
What are you looking for when you say "sporty"? Sticky, rain performance, handleing...
Are these going on stock 7" rims?
There isn't a big selection for what I would consider sporty in a 235-75. A 255/70 is just a little taller.
A 275-60 should be just a little shorter. They'll fit on a 7" rim, but wider would be better.
I would recommend the Bridgestone H/P, but they don't make them in a 15" model anymore (unfortunately for me). BFG T/A's would be my next suggestion. Stay away from Dunlop GT qualifier. They ride really nice, but the handling isn't there.
I drove the heck out of some Firestone Firehawk SS and they were really good all around, but that was on a Ranger in a 235-60-15 (a pretty different animal).
yeah its a stock rim.....just something that will grip the road good in wet and dry ........and from time to time maby a little race action. I guess some shorter wider tires would do the trick. I'm gona get another set of rims and put some 31' T/A k/o's on
