f100 4x4 diff ratio's

i have a 1977 f100 4x4 manual australian assembled,that i am trying to get 4x4 working again i think someone has put high ratio gears in the 9inch rear when i lock hubs and ingage in 4x4 thing,s start to lock up and become stiff and rear wheels skip, can anyone tell me what these trucks came out with original? diff ratios? front and rear,the numbers on the front diff tag are 4.09 77ta aa 610030 2r. and the tag on rear diff is wev-av 3d22 3 50 9 8714a.

There's your problem

4.09 in the front and 3.50's in the rear

The ratios have to be the exact same
ie: 3.54's ,3.73's

or one little bit off

ie: Front - 4.09 and Rear 4.10

or Front 4.10 or Rear 4.11
