feul vaporization

are there any gians to be made by vaporizing gasoline? I understand Smokey Yunick built a hot air engine that ran strong and returned beter fuel econeomy. I have been thinking that by heating my intake under my carburater I can vaprorize my gasoine so it will mix better and not fall out of suspension. What gains are there to be had with throtel body injection over a well tuned carburater?

Well, it depends on what engine you are working on. Most V engines already have an exhaust crossover in the intake which heats it to atomize the fuel.
TBI gives a finer mist of fuel which is better regulated by the ECM.

From your other thread:
"Depending on application most intakes are heated either by the exhaust thru a crossover or by engine coolant or by warm air intakes."

I get the impression that it is well worth the price for Throtel-body-injection over a good carburater. Carburaters are very generously priced however they are a great many parts compared to fuel injection; given that most of the parts are integrated into a computer program.

I love electricals but I still prefer a plain ordinary carb. A TBI system can be more accurate and fuel efficient tho if set up properly.
