wastegate problems???
OK yall!! I was wondering if any one else has had this problem!! A few months ago I installed a BANKS BIDHEAD WASTEGATE on my 2001 Ford 350 7.3. (along with several other performance products.) I have been having some problems with the boost being unstable during acceleration. (with a big horse trailer mainly pulling hills---24,000 lbs. truck and trailer weight) I will have a steady boost pressure of about 10-12 psi and from time to time the guage will just burry itself in a matter of about 1 second!!!! Of course this makes my SES light come on and makes for a really scary situation!!! And recently on my last trip I could not get the boost up past 5 psi!!!! WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE!!! These are the codes that come on after my boost spikes:
1-- P0238 turbocharger boost sensor A circuit high
2-- p1249 wastgate fail steady state test
3-- P1211 injection control pressure < or > desired
I will be calling Banks tomorrow but would like yall's imput about this one.
