compression

hello
i have a '78 460 block with dished pistons and heads with the numbers C9.VE-A.
did anyone know how much cc chamber these heads have, and how much cc the dishes in the standard pistons are?
i will calculate the compressionrate and i don't know these values.
thanks

the heads have been swapped... the c9ve are from 1969 and are 72cc, and the stock dish piston from 1972-up are 22cc, if the block is a c8ve, c9ve, or d0ve then theyll have flat top pistons... d1ve and d9te blocks have the 22cc dish.

thanks for the reply

the block ia a D1VE 6015-A2b. the 22cc dish i think.
the stock compression of the block with the original heads is 8.0:1
with this heads i calculated 8.6:1 is that right?
chamber in cc's 72
piston dome in cc's -22
cilinder diameter in mm 110.78
stroke length mm 97.79
gasket thickness mm 1.1
cilinder below deck mm 1.7

i have a holley 750 vacuum second carburator
a crane camshaft (353941 powermax hydraulic) with the follow specs:

Open 266 LBS @ 1.310
Recommended RPM range with matching components
Minimum RPM 1800
Maximum RPM 5400

Cam Timing: TAPPET @.050
Lift: Opens Closes Max Lift Duration
Intake 1 BTDC 35 ABDC 107 216 °
Exhaust 51 BBDC (3) BTDC 117 228 °

is that a good combo?

i used the stock exhaust manifolds and a stainles steel dual system (2 1/4 inch).
i have a edelbrock performer intake manifold.
i did a little portwork on the heads and the exhaustmanifolds.

how many horsepower can i get with that combo?
good or bad mileage?
it is for a truck with a 3.54 rear end and '33 tires and a c6 transmission.

with the holley 750 and 3.54 gears and an automatic in a 1978 2wd id say around 10 mpg... if you had a 600 cfm carb youd probably be able to get 12-14 and youd probably be around 320 horse with the holley 750 and that combo if everything was tuned properly

a 300a on a 460? you should at least have an impco 425 if not an ohg 450. if you were willing to run propane exclusively then you could easily bump the static compression to 11-1 with a mild cam (like the one you listed)... if not the 425 or 450 id think about the technocarb carb with dual model e regulators... quite a bit more expensive but a whole lot more flow

with the 425 or the 450 you can not run on gasoline.
in the netherlands are a lot of lpg stations but in belgie and germany not.
if i go to germany i must drive on gasoline.
i think it's not possible a 425 on a holley carburator,isn't it?

it is possible but it takes a special adapter. if you want more info on it just go to http://fuelsforum.rasoenterprises.com/index.php and either frank or franz should be able to help you out
