Last weekend my hubby was helping me with my m/c and booster replacement and shredded the end of my booster vaccum line, so it needed to be replaced. He took off the air filter and disconnected some vaccum lines from it (on the engine side, they are still attached to the filter) and i dont know where they go. Got everything put back together and now she's idling rought and won't stay running unless you give her some gas. I've looked through the diagrams on autozone and cant see the ones they are.
It's the two small hoses at the base of the air cleaner between the intake and oil filler cap hose thingy. btw should there be oil coming up that? also have a breather under my pcv valve that is leaking?
It's a manual tranny (3 on the tree). Dont know if it's a cali or 49 state truck. Dont know the axel ratio. At the moment there is to much gunk to see if there is a sticker on the valve cover.
I do see the image, could be the ambient temperature control? To dark tonight to mess with it but I'll give it a go in the morning.
Is there a better manual than the haynes? I'm really starting to hate it.
No it's not the diagrams. It's the instructions. You get referenced to another section for instructions and then that section makes a cursory refernce to another section that doesn't mention what you are trying to do at all.
It also seems to assume that you already know where everything is at on the truck. I might look at picking up the OEM books.
Tomorrow I'm going to napa for a few yards of vacuum hose and I'm going to re-line the whole truck. Way to many half-arsed and missing connections. There is a vacuum line in the top of carb that is plugged with a screw and I discovered today that the wire to connect the electric choke isn't even hooked up. Oh well, lots of w/e projects ahead.
