I had a lot of oily residue on the boots to/from the Intercooler so I assumed I had some boost leaks. I tightened them all down and used some Lysol Basin Tub and Tile Cleaner to clean them up. WOW! That stuff worked much easier and way better than any engine degreaser I have ever used and no rinsing needed - just spray it on, let it sit 15 seconds and wipe the stuff away. As you can see in the picture, that 7 year old hose looks brand new. I wish I had taken a "before" picture. It makes stuff look like it has been Armor All'd.
Thanks for the tip but you may want to rinse anyway. Some of those cleaners could cause deterioration of the hose materials if left on there. It does look great though.
