I will soon be towing a 10' landscape trailer with a 2000 Explorer Sport 2WD. I don't expect loads to be too heavy, maybe 2500 lbs at the most.

I have two questions:

The rear has single leaf spring pack. I know this is good for almost nothing. I am thinking of installing either air shocks or a coil over shock. Does anyone have experience with either or both?

Also, I see that there is a factory remote trans cooler. Is this one large enough to tow with or should I replace it with a larger aftermarket piece?

Thanks for all advise given.

I would think as long as you don't tow over your weight limit you should be fine with your current trans cooler.

I installed 'AIR SPRINGS" to cure my towing sag.

Don't install air shocks; the mounts aren't designed to handle the loads these shocks put on them. Here's some info on air bags: http://www.suspensionconnection.com/.../air_bags.html

Thanks for the help! I'll check out the air bags. I was also thinking of swaping out the single leaf to a multi leaf pack.

If your towed weight estimate is right, multi-leaf springs would probably be overkill. Plus, your Ex will ride rougher when not towing. Try the bags first.
