I want to add the Toyota steering box to my '53 F100. It has the 239 flathead. Has anyone in this forum done this? I have seen a lot of discussion on the steering box install, but not so much on pumps, brackets and pulleys.
Thank You for your help.

I haven't seen any companies that make a flathead power steering pump bracket. I'm sure people have made them - I just haven't seen any that I remember.
This might be dumb, but it seemed to work for this guy in the article below.
He used a Toyota MR2 electric power steering pump for what he was doing. It's apparently an electric motor with a pump attached. It pulls some juice, but it was in an MR2 originally so it must work. It would clean up the engine to keep it looking original and still power your steering. It would take some trickery to mount and hide it, but it might work. Maybe down by the battery under the cab???? Price might be all right - don't know about junk yard prices for that item.
If you're keeping a 6 volt system then this is probably a bad way to go. If you're making it 12 volt it just might be a good idea.
Offenhauser makes those brackets & using the original Ram Assist would be your easiest & best wat to accomplishing a P/S install, as it just Bolts right on.
I half bought/half made a bracket for my flatty to hold a saginaw pump. There are a couple of pictures of it in my gallery, near the end of the "My Truck" album. I used a universal bracket from Speedway (the gold one in the picture) and made the black portion out of 3/8 metal plate. it is basically a big backwards "C" shape and where the speedway bracket attaches, has extra material welded there to make the pump pulley line up with the crank pulley. I had a spare block and water pump for mock up and it worked out quite well. Sorry for the crappy quality of the pictures of it in my gallery...I guess FTE enlarges them some, they are smaller and fine on my pc but in the gallery they blew up and are distorted but you can kinda make it out.
The only place I found at the time selling the bracket wanted the bracket and pump sold as a combo and was over $300. I spent around $75 total, including the rebuilt pump from Napa.
