01 Excursion Oil Leak

Valley is dry therefore it is from the rear, right? Maybe. Maybe not. We changed out the O-rings in the pedistal and that fixed it. It was dripping out so you could see it when stopped and took a couple gallons to make the truck run again. Had an accident and the truck is fixed. Bad enough to move the front 85mm to the right. Anyways, it has started spotting. Thought it might be the EBPV. A mechanic changed it and with that, new O-rings. SSDD. Well we are trying to dye it and see what happens on monday.

So, any other ideas?

So you had the leak fixed and after the wreck a new leak started? With 85mm of intrusion on the driver side maybe the oil cooler/Filter head/VC Gasket.

It was in the front tho. The turbo pedestal seemed wet still. We sealed it up so could the next step be to use some anaerobic sealant?

Well, we determined that the leak is coming from the pedestal area. Dumped more dye in it and found that the oil on the floor luminescences. Therefore we concluded that the oil is fresh. Next, we used a borescope to look around and found it from the turbo pedestal area. Not sure why but I suppose the next thing is to change the O-rings and see if it is level and use anaerobic sealant. Will do that on Monday. If anyone else has a bring idea, now is the time. TIA

Only thing I could think of is the force of the impact during th acciden was strong enough to jar the engine in the frame and possibly the exhaust got put in a bind and now it's got (or had) the turbo pedestal area tweaked and it just took some time for the pedestal o-rings to leak....

Either that or the mechanic didn't do something right?

Dunno which it is. We noticed that the kit came with grey colored o-rings. International says it has come out with yellow ones which are better. Guess we will have to see on Monday when the truck goes in.
