A couple of days ago I found a small puddle of the pink/red steering oil under the front of the truck.
looking into it, I could see that there was quite an oily mess on some of the power steering components, but I couldn't find the exact place there the oil came out of. the oil level was under minimum.
I got to the dealer, and they opened up to find nothing. they tightned some bolts on the power steering box and filled up the oil.
they told me to look at it every time i drive and if it comes again I should come back.
The thing is, that now the steering is wobbly. after taking a bend, the truck does not straighten itself, and i have to turn the steering wheel back. the dealer told me i need to replace the steering stablilzing shock. (ordered one under waranty)
Your steering box is shot. The caster should bring your wheels back straight everytime, but it sounds like you have some slop that is not allowing that to happen. It might be as simple as a seal is blown and not holding pressure, but in any case have them replace it.
eysham - I have just started experiencing the same leak(s) that you found under your truck. I was curious if the dealers tooke care of it and all is well now? I will need to make an appointment here soon. I have filled it once and I see the level is going down again and the drips continue.
