I have noticed that when I am towing and I make a turn from a stop the truck feels like it is in 4wd on pavement. Almost like it has lockers in it. Anybody else have this?
If the front hubs are locked (or the auto hubs are failing and stuck in the locked position) the front axle will be turning. If the front axle is turning you will feel the U joints binding when making a sharp turn. It doesn't have to be in 4 wheel drive for that to happen.
Well we shall see, I would think that would happen whether I was towing or not, however I did just double check that and noticed that some joker turned one of the hubs to lock, the other was in auto which is how I set them.
I've never drove a dually so I'm not sure, but could you also maybe be feeling the rear tires kind of fighting each other because they want to turn at different speeds but cant? I would think this would probably be more noticeable when you are hauling so maybe that is it?
