Call Elmer's and Purina... she's done

PS... I was surprised to see diesel move to even in price with the mid-grade gas here this weekend. $2.39 for "regular" 2.49 for midrange gas and diesel, and $2.59 for super gas. Valero. Houston.

My turn...... My personal truck, 06 350 dually, Work truck, 04 250 4x4 V10

Work truck pulls 16ft trailer with rebar,4x8 sheets ply wood, misc structure supplies. Personal truck pulls 36ft 5th wheel.

Around town the v10 does a good job. BUT.......... In no way does it ever compare to the comfort, and ride of the 350. To me that over rides any question of MPG issues!!!!!! GOT TO GO WITH THE 350!!!!

[QUOTE=CounterMaker]ill agree with what everryone has said so far except for the 5.4 thing...lol...

Ok, I gotta put my 3 cents in. For a daily driver with occasional towing the 5.4 wins hands down. The 5.4 saves you at least 6 grand right off the bat and gets as good a mileage as the PSd and far better than the V10. So, if the bottom line is bucks go 5.4. If you like gut wrenching stump pullin power then the V10 and psd will do the job just fine. The psd will do it with better mileage than the V10 and the V10 is better outa the hole empty. Right?

Sorry, bfloyd your wrong about 5.4l vs 6.8l gas mileage. Both engines are about the same mpg wise. My neighbor has the F-250 LD w 5.4 I have F-250 SD w 6.8l we get about the same mileage. Both trucks are 4X4 supercab short beds.

Why do the Cummins and Duromax get better MPG than the 6.0 PSD? I'm hearing guys around hear getting 22mpg out of their cummins.

Actually many folks with old 12 valvers consistently get 20+ mpg after modding them. One reason might be that they tend to have much higher gearing (lower numerically) than a comparable Ford.

everybody is talkin about the 6.8 and psd are so fun to drive. i have a 5.4 3v and its incredibly fun to drive. of course i have done some things to it and it has 4.10 gears. also its a lighter motor than the other two, so it will gitty up and go pretty quick. just my two cents, dont forget the 5.4 3v of course

F250 5.4

I have a 2003 F250 with the 5.4 engine. I currently have 99,000 miles mostly on the highway. I pull my 28' pontoon boat and have no problem driving 70 miles per hour. The truck has a 3:73 gears in the rear and I have never had any problem going up and down the hill at 70 miles per hour. I have the 10,800 gvw and the only thing thats wrong with the truck is the suspension is to stiff even when I have 3,000 lbs in the bed it never touches the overload springs. Mileage is not bad either around town 15 on the highway 19 the truck does have a bed cover and is used all the time.

hello

New to this sight but I like the super duty ford and think its a great truck. This is not my first truck but it is the largest daily driver that I have ever used on a daily basis.
