CCV mod output

I did the CCV mod yesterday so I can start to clean up my engine compartment. I didn't even know I had orange boots in there...
Anyway, the hose that I ran from the CCV has a steady output with engine warm or cold. Is this normal?

This "doghouse" vents the crankcase gasses into the intake. the CCV mod reroutes them away so the boots stay clean

You wont blow off an IC boot since there is no longer an oily residue to make the IC pipes slippery.

And you won't clog your intercooler with oily goop.

Upon removal of the stock intercooler for a Spearco, we got about a quarter quart (sounds marginal, but is quite significant) of oil drained from the stocker.
Did the CCV mod when we did the Spearco/TN/Swampies 100,000+ miles ago.
So that would've been around 198,000 miles with NO CCV mod, so yes, IMO it allows oil to blow through the entire intake tract. SO doing the mod will prevent this.
I didn't, however have any issues with oily/leaky boots before and certainly do not now.

The only thing I would add is that some guys run the hose up over the brake booster then down instead of down immediately like this pic shows. The hose is at 1 or 2 o'clock instead of 4 or 5 o'clock, referenced to the pic. The reasoning is that any liquid oil that gets up the hose will run down with the help of gravity instead of running out the hose. To my mind, this makes sense and I haven't had any oil come out of my hose. To add to this, some of the guys that do it like the pic tie wrap a plastic bottle laid sideways with holes cut in what becomes the top so there's no back pressure to catch any oil that may make it out to the end of the hose (making the angle of the hose moot).

BTW, what size O-rings go under the dog house? I think they were like 1", but I can't remember. I re-used the original ones, but it looks like I have a little blow-by at the dog house, so I need to replace 'em...

Yeah, they're there. 1 1/2" OD, 1/8" thick. Thanks!
