Another fourwheel drive problem
My fourwheel drive, 2000 F-350 psd has turned into a two wheel drive. When I engage it on the dash I get nothing. No lights, no clunk, no anything. I switched out my transfer case shift motor last summer and temporarily fixed the problem but now it is back. I dont know if the motor is gone again and if so what would be frying my motors. Maybee its a new problem altogether and my new motor is fine.

I would think based on what I've read here, that if there's no light on the dash there definitely is a problem at the motor. Perhaps the wire has been compromised somewhere, or the plug itself? I would start with disconnecting/re-connecting the plug to see if you can get the light to come on. Even jiggling the wire around. If it did, then obviously a short somewhere. If nothing, maybe there's a way to check the motor with a 12 volt source to see it you can get it to function, or make some sort of noise????? Just throwing some out of the box thoughts at you. Is such a drag when you get a part that doesn't last long, but the reality is it happens all the time. It sure sounds like the motor again. Either that or the ESOF switch, but that is probably unlikely. Like totin said, you are just going to have to track it back. Start with fuses though.
