Hi all,
I just bought a 2004 Lariat screw a couple of weeks ago.. I love it.. I have very few complaints (rear power glass sqeaks a bit)...
Anywho, although I'm not having any issues with driveability, would it be a good idea to go to a Ford dealer and see if there is an update to get reflashed? I am not sure if the previous owner ever hard that performed.
yeah, i'm not sure if the dealer will re-flash and add preformance to the truck....prollly just re-flash for updates and such....i could be wrong....and if i am i'm going to have my truck re-flashed often...

Took my '06 in for the rough idle problem, dealer did the reflash for free. However, only saw minimal improvement in throttle response and it did nothing for the rough idle. If you take yours in, don't expect much of a performance gain.
I had my truck reflashed cuz the throttle accuator control code was coming up and now my truck feels like it has lost power. running it on 91 octane with my programmer felt like it used to on the 87 octane setting
There may not even be a later flash than what is on your PCM anyway. In that case you would be paying for hookup for nothing. A fresh flash sometimes nets a reduction in performance because your computer will have to relearn all of its idle strategy over again.
Ford dealers are also not authorized to flash the PCM without a TSB or pinpoint test directing them to do so if they want to cover under warranty now... no more doing it just for the hell of it and charging Ford the fee.
