Have a '00 F150 4.2 5sp. shortbed. 177,000 trouble free miles until a few months ago when it started to miss a little on takeoff.Service lite was on so took it to a friend who runs a garage.Code said cam position sensor,so replaced it.Ran good for about 100 miles then started missing again.Took it back and same code.Replaced sensor again figuring must have got a bad one the first time.Now at about 150 mikes it's missing again,service light on.Also replaced plugs,wires and fuel filter last time.Any ideas on what is causing this would be greatly appreciated.I really love this little fella and want to get it well asap.Best handling pu I've ever owned,solid 20 mpg all the time,best AC in the industry,works hard every day and never complains,but its got a bad case of the hiccups.TIA for any suggestions.Tom

 

I would make sure the wiring to the sensor is in good shape.
