F10 = F100
Y = 352 V8
D = Dallas Texas Assembly Plant
832302 = 1966
List the rest of the numbers on the VIN...the color code is after the wheelbase, second line.
Hi William, Yes it is A9 althoughit has a 9 in rear now and 4 spd, Could that be a mistake?. Do you think it would have came that way, sounds Doubtful to me as well.

I checked through the entire 64/72 parts book axle codes, all the rear end decodes for 1964/69 show A9 as a Dana 60 locking 3.54. Weird, as then the front wheels would be 8 lug also. Could be a mistake...but who knows after 41 years.
My book shows tranny code A as the 4 spd New Process
But it also shows A9 rear axle as 3.54 Dana 60-2
Code 09 is a Ford 9" in 3.70 ratio.........
Assembly was March of '66 in Dallas
Ooops, sorry. A code is = 1964/65 3 speed; 1964 5 Speed Fuller Direct; 1964/ NP 435; and 66/67 5 Speed Direct Dana 8052. Shoulda looked past the Fuller listing.
09 = WDM-K or WDM-U 3.70 Ford 9 inch 3300 lb axle. (A9 prolly a typo)
