There is a company called Hot Rods From Hell that offers this type of suspension for many different vehicles. Besides that, NASCAR even uses this style of rear suspension- and if I'm not mistaken, there are FORDs in NASCAR!

I've got to ask why you would want the truck arm suspension???? They work ok, but there are a lot better systems to use. I have seen some trucks with a long (38") ladder bars using coil overs or coil springs, suspension works great!!!!
I also have 2 '69 CHEVY trucks and 1 '72 CHEVY truck. The ride is awesome, plus they are VERY easy to lower. I have owned MANY 67-72 Ford trucks, but I just like the rear coil spring suspension of the CHEVY.Just wanted to know if anyone has ever done the swap?!
Not a swap using the Chevy parts, but I have built a few truck suspensions with truck arms. The do ride nice. Both I did use air bags on the rear. The only thing I don't like about the Chevy set up is that they go in towards the center at a bit too much of an angle. The one's I built were at considerably less angle. But, you're right, they are easy to lower and they do ride good. If air ride is in your future, it would be a viable option, for sure.... (Even if Chevy did make it....lol)
PS--I would also have to admit there is a Camaro in my garage, though when completed it will be Ford Windsor powered!!!!!!!!

Thank You Dave Severson. That is the kind of responce I was looking for. Not that I am going to use the CHEVY parts, but like yourself, I want air bags and the trailing arms. Thanks Again!

ps-- AT LEAST YOUR CAMARO IS AMERICAN POWERED!
You'll really like the bags on the back, they ride great!!! Same truck had a Mustang II type front suspension with bags. I installed a compressor, tank, and the 4 valve control system. The owner loves it!!! Saw him at a number of rod runs and shows last summer, idling around at about 2 mph with the rockers about 2" off the blacktop. When the show's over, he just airs it up and runs down the highway!!! Kind of a best of both worlds deal. I was really skeptical of the airbag systems till I studied up on them a bit, then did the first one. They are great for cruizers!!!!!!

Sorry bud, but this is your post.
Has anyone ever put a rear trailing arm set up from a 67-72 GM truck into their 67-72 FORD truck? Thanks
-Lance
Which means what??? Doubt it violates any laws if he did decide to put a set of Chevy trailing arms on his Ford pickup.... It wouldn't be that tough of a deal to do, and if you wanted to put bags or coils on the back of the truck and didn't have the fabrication skills or equipment to build your own arms it would be a viable and inexpensive alternative....
If the parts work right and achieve the desired results, does it really matter if they came off another brand???? My door lock solenoids came off a Dodge Mini-van, doesn't seem to make it less of a truck to me!!!!
Brand loyalty is great, but brand blindness is questionable.... Not all of us want to leave our trucks as Henry sent them out of the factory. It's not like he was asking about changing engines in his Corvette or something!!!! He's modifying a FORD truck and asked a legitimate question..... Lighten up a bit, ok?
Dave, We learned from the best, just go to a chevy truck site and ask about putting Ford parts in it.

LOL,,,, Been there done that.... Lots and lots of them Chevy trucks running 9" Ford rear ends. Narrowed up two housings, both for Chevy pickups, allready this month. Seems they may not be quite as narrow minded, they are willing to use what works best.......
I guess we would differ on an approach to learning.... I've learned that all the manufacturers offer a unique approach to certain situations, and that is worth my while to take the time to study the way the have addressed the engineering issues on a truck... Ford has some very good trucks and are of course my personal favorite or I wouldn't be here. But I don't believe that Ford has designed the best solution to all problems, which leaves me the option to pick and choose the parts and components I use to make my car do what I'm building it to do...... Whether you choose to believe it or not, there are other manufacturers and a multitude of aftermarket companies that build components that are at least equal to and in many cases better then the parts Ford put on these trucks back in the 70's........
