Disappearing coolant . . .

The antifreeze level in the resevoir tank slowly goes down over the course of a year by about a gallon. There are no obvious leaks and the is no evidence that it is going into the oil. Any ideas?

With that slow of a leak and no signs of an obvious leak, I might recommend an oil analysis. It may not be obvious at that leak rate. Does it smoke at all?

Also, check the waterpump and radiator areas very closesly. That slow a leak will not be very evident on casual inspection. It may be a weep if you will. Have it pressure tested.

Make sure you check all of your hoses closely... I just had a very small crack in mine that barely dripped over a short period of time and I ignored it because I thought it was just water or maybe a little bit of oil. The hose cracked and now I have lost about a half gallon of antifreeze!!

I had a leak at my thermostat housing when I replaced it and it did not look like it was leaking there, but after awhile a green coating was starting to form, and once I found some drops forming between the housing and the pump. Pulled it apart and did it again with new everything (including bolts) and it fixed the problem.
