Well I'm going to put stuff on my truck, so I can go off road, not into extreme mud running, but like go up in the woods, or out threw the fields, stuff that we do around here. But here's my list, and tell me if I shouldn't get something, ot what I need to get, and reasons would for why I do/don't need it.
K&N Performance Fuel Injection Kit
Edelbrock Cat-Back exhaust
Bigger Throttle Body
Throttle Body Spacer
Cutting Cats off
32" Off-Road/Pavement tire
Posi-Traction on Front End
Plus I was told a good idea to do since mine is automatic is to put a small tachometer, so I can see when it red lines, so I can use it as a gauge to check for unnormal things. Just another safety percaution.

Looks like you are going to the drag races, and not off road. Where is the high-lift, recovery straps, tools, air gauge, some source of air to air up tires after a run, shovel, buddy with another truck to help with extraction duties after you get stuck?
A prepared rig for recovery will be far more benificial than any of the go fast stuff you have listed.
first off:
K&N Performance Fuel Injection Kit-waste of money for the little hp's
Edelbrock Cat-Back exhaust-good idea
Bigger Throttle Body-they help but are too damn expensive.
Throttle Body Spacer-NEVER EVER EVER, TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY, BAD!!!
Cutting Cats off
32" Off-Road/Pavement tire-good idea
Posi-Traction on Front End-great idea
instead of spending thousands on engine perfomance, just spend the money and get lower gears, that would take the place of all those engine parts and would help you off road more, the tach is always helpful, like 75f350 said there a lot more important things off road then high hp's, depending on what vehicle you have i wouldn't waste your money on a superchip, if its a new truck it might be a good idea. hp isn't a big issue if you can spin your tires fine now, and with 32" all-terrains i think youll be fine.
You could be the K&N Filter any time, but that wouldn't matter.
I wouldn't worry about throttle body anything. I wouldn't use a edelbrock exhaust system. IF you want loud exhaust that flows well, cut the cats off, (depending on area, this might be very illegal), and run 2.5" straight pipes or with a muffler of your choice.
IF You go off road, you will need tires. I would get some form of a mud terrain.
You WILL need a strap, and strong attatchment points on your truck for when you get stuck. A chain might be somthing good to have too, shackles, a shovel, and if you really want to be sure you can get out of a hole you can do 2 things:
1) get a truck or two bigger than yours with a very strong strap to go with you
or
2)get a winch at least 1.5 times the pulling power of your trucks weight.
I always bring 2 or 3 straps, 2 chains, 2 or 3 shackles, a shovel, refreshments, every now and then a hi lift jack(but usually can't use it, I only needed it once), and make sure at least 2 other people come with me and they have straps too, and have my phone just incase we need more than 2 trucks. Last time we had 5 trucks, and still couldn't get the stuck vehical out until the tractor came.
Well I plan on putting a tool box in the bed of my truck, which I plan on carrying a logging chain (Ones used to hold those logs on those semi trailers) and my tool kit (Already got one setup for off-roading) Some straps (Proably 3). I want to hook up a big winch to put on the front of my truck (Do winchs come with instructions on how to install them to you truck?) and 4 KC lights. I plan on putting Posi-Traction in the front, so when I lock up the front and turn on the 4 wheel drive, I got two wheel's moving. The exhaust will help get some power, definetly when I cut those 2 cats off. (Who puts a cat behind a cat?) I'll proably have a shovel, and a pick.
I don't want to mess with the gearing, just do a little, so I can drive my truck anytime, and still get good gas milage. Plus I wouldn't be off-roading alot, just threw the hills and fields around here. The tach I'm getting is a small one (Not a big ricer tach.)
I plan on a bull bar, which I will put the winch on and a light bar. But I don't think I will mess with the posi-traction, cause I can't have my truck out of comission to long. Any other ideas for what I need. The tires and the exhaust are the first things on my list of things to buy.
just a little tip when your cutting the cats off, there might be a tube, that runs right after the first cat, you dont want to leave that open, you want to connect that back to the new exaust, it is for your egr, if you leave it open it will pull clean air and confuse your computer.
You probably don't need to regear if you only plan on useing 32" tires.
But you mentioned a bull bar and putting a winch on it. That won't work. Those bull bars aren't strong enough for that.
The tires should be the first thing.
Then you could do some intake and exhaust work.
Yeah, I know about the EGR, but I will keep it in mind, and thanks for reminding me. Well do you guys know where I can get one of those bumpers you put on the front (You just take your stock one off and bolt this one on. No modifications.) and has the winch and winch guide. Thats what I want, the I put the bull bar/light bar on it. That would be cool.
But you said something about that little tube, isn't that usually infront of the first cat? Cause thats the way alot of them are done. But thanks, I'm open to more suggestions.
I can go anywhere I want some real nice trails here in CO (look up Holly Cross Trail or Kelly Flats) mostly stock 32" MTs new front springs about an inch or 2 untill I put the warn on the bumper. Straps tires winches and friends are worth more off road than any of you listed mods.
Of coarse it is your money, but you did ask us.
check out a ranch hand bumper, cant beat the looks and how solid they are, you should be able to afford it if they talked you out of all the other stuff. i bought one but not one with a winch setup because i cant afford a winch haha

i dont know about your truck, but on mine the egr tube is right after the first cat and that is on a 96' just when you put exhaust on dont forget that just drill a hole in the exhaust and weld it on, or you could have a shop do that part for you, i left my first cat on so no cops could give me ****, i just hollowed it out, that is a very big power robber when it its clogged and trust me if your truck is more than 10 years old most likely its clogged like a bi*tch!!
