4 codes...not into diagnostics

I am a mechanic, but i am not a master tech. I don't do diagnostics very much. I got 4 codes-check engine light.

327-egr signal low
211-pip erratic
212-no tach input to processor-spout
332-egr valve not opening

Are these related or just so happens everything happened at once? I put a new egr pos sensor and egr valve. re did vacuum line to egr valve in case was cracked. Check engine light does not come on immediately. During cooler mornings light comes on after about 3/4 mile. After that or warmer days, i start it and it comes on within 2 minuites. When driving, light comes on and off. Also when sitting in parking lot idling, light changes. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Are these code from KOEO or continuous memory? If from memory, did you clear the codes after repairs? If not it will clear after forty or so warm ups. I don't remember the number. You did not say what year but on my 94 the pip code came after the ignition module died for brief period. I guess you have already checked connections?

Have you used a vacuum tester to check the overall vacuum system for egr code? Pip code could be plugs, wires, rotor, cap, misc connections, ignition module, pip in distributor are possibilities.

The two EGR-related codes are most likely an electrical problem with the EVP sensor on the TOP of the EGR valve. Check connections for fit and corrosion. Make sure you don't have any damaged wiring to the sensor. If that checks out and your vacuum supply to it is good, you may want to clean the EGR valve. Soot buildes up inside and can cause the pintle to stick. The most realistic possibility after that is a failed or failing EVP sensor. There is a more complicated possibility but would require some tricky diagnostic procedures that would take some time to expalin here. PM me if you want the full skinny.

The PIP and tach codes are most likely related as well. Make certian the SPOUT connector near the TFI module is fully seated. Should be a grey connector with two PINK wires going to it. Check for corrosion on the pins inside. Clean as ncessary. PIP sensor failure is a very rare occurrance in late models. However strong magnetic signals or radio frequencies can have an adverse effect on the PIP sensor since it is an inductive sensor (Uses magnetic field to trigger the sensor). Make certain your spark plug wires are in good condition and not routed around the base of the distrubutor housing. If the PIP sensor is indeed suspect, there IS an rather tedious test to make certian. Again, PM me if you think you need the procedure lined out.

on my 95, the sensor is actually not located on top of the egr valve...its located next to it with 2 hoses comin from egr tube off manifold. the valve is brand new and does work correctly. the wiriung is good because i checked resistance and continuity from there to the 60 pin pcm connector. sensor is new. does work correctly. tested. wires, cap, rotor, plugs were done less than 6k miles ago.

alright now im down to 2 codes...327 and 212. New egr valve, cleaned everything out. Put new plugs and wires. Cap and rotor. 327 only shows up on koeo. 212 jumps in on continuous memory with koer. i cleared all codes. then i reset KAM. and these 2 keep comin up. i unplug the spout, and it dies. it is not vacuum advance. I am getting sort of lost here...

Not neccesarily, the spout has to be dissconnected to set true base engine timing. It could be corroded, broken, disconnected, or worse. Take it apart and check the connections and test the wires.

OK my bad. I was all twisted up. I figured it out. Ill post if my next attempt fails or is successful. Spout isnt anywhere near distributor. Its on driver side fender near diag connections/obd 1
i was mislead somewhere along the road that confused my whole process.

spout shows no signs of corosion. It does indeed have a great connection. I believe it is the pip sensor inside the distributor housing. Are there any other possible components causing this code? A trick?
