1998 Explorer ABS Light

This past weekend, I replaced the front brake pads and turned the rotors on my 1998 Explorer XLT 4X4. After I got everything back together, the ABS light came on and stayed on. The brake fluid reservoir has been topped off and I disconnected one of the battery cables for close to a minute thinking that would reset the system. It didn't work. I even tapped the reservoir thinking the float was stuck. Any suggestions?

The sensor is not working properly. It's possible that you may need to turn the rotors again to confirm a flush turn, as a wobble in the rotor will cause the sensor to not detect. Also not that rotors MUST be rated for ABS.

ABS Light

The problem ended up being the ABS sensor. While I was busting the rotors loose, I accidentally hit one of the wheel studs and drove it inboard and it cracked the sensor. $110 later and no light. My bad.
