Another reason not be on the cell-Phone

Another reason not be on the cell-Phone
I was on the phone (that is my story and I am sticking to it) frustrated with my health Ins company about a claim that is a year old for a lot of money that they have not paid yet!
Needless to say, I was testing this last tank of fuel with a new economy module I been working on. My goal was to hit 500 miles on one tank of fuel, driving it like I always do, and not keeping it below 2K RPM. I was at 499.6 miles and the truck started to sputter, so I stopped at the closest gas station on the corner to fill up.
Still on the phone, filled the truck up with 31 gallons, of PREMIUM UNLEADED fuel , that I discovered about 3.5 miles down the road, when the truck lost power and flat died on me. That was at 6:00 PM, and no where close to the shop.
3 hours later, after removing 31 Gallons of PREMIUM UNLEADED fuel through a manual syphon pump, (glad I kept the extra fuel filter in the truck), got it primed filled with 31 gal of Preimum DIESEL, and a bottle of amsoil race diesel conditioner, she ran beautifully. Well better than ever, I might add!
So, lesson learned: hmmmmmmm

Bill, you are a little more honest then I, if I would have done that I wouldn't have told anyone...
Glad to hear you got it going..I bet you have some good time into that excursion.
The latest thing is to add some RUL gasoline to the #2..It runs hotter combustion..
Its a little hard on the injectors though..
Good deal, glad everything worked out..BTW-when are you getting those Fumoto valves for sale?

Sorry to hear about your gas goof up. I sent the relief valve today (I'll PM the trk#), if nothing else, maybe you can use it to vent some steam re: health ins and gassing up! Bad news, I retired early w/o health ins, good news, I don't have to deal with those people, bad news, I'm turning 65 in a few mos and will have to get a part B sup and start dealing again.
I always smell what I'm putting in the tank. When towing, I try to fill at truck stops to get freshest fuel, but I'm always concerned that they might have just gotten a recent delivery which stirs up gunk in their underground tank. When around town empty, I try to find a stand alone diesel pump, but often have to pump from one that's mixed in with gas nozzles. This makes me smell twice just to make sure I'm getting diesel.
I've heard and read a lot of stories where people just grab a nozzle based on color (they claim diesel is always black, yellow, green, or whatever) and fill up. I've also heard that gas sometimes comes out of nozzles clearly marked as diesel. I think stations sometimes switch storage tanks from gas to diesel and vice versa. In fact, I just Googled and confirmed this suspicion! http://www.vpcga.com/files/public/PMAA%20Simple%20Steps%20to%20ULSD%20Compliance.pdf
