I have an '87 Bronco 302 with 188K on it. It usually registers very cool on the engine temp gauge and also on the low end of the oil pressure gauge.
I got it last Nov. and the one thing that really attracted me to it with this many miles is the ease of starting and how quiet and smooth the engine idled and ran.
Now with warmer temps its decided to start acting up. It will start and idle above 1000RPM for a second then settle down. Instead of settling down around 700 RPM it just dumps on down and either dies or engages in a seesaw of hacking and coughing at the bottom then raging back to 1000RPM and back until it settles down at 700 RPM after 2-3 up and downs. Mostly it just dies.
Its most annoying to me. Only does this on start up and only a problem when ambient temps are above 55-60F.
