Wondering if there is any difference between the rear of a Ford Powerstroke and the International T444E counterpart in the way of bolting up transmissions, flywheel differences etc?
I am not positive but I have never seen a medium duty tranny bolt up anything like a E4OD. I am quite sure the adapter plate is bolted on the powerstoke and would need to replaced with a SAE bell housing for a medium duty tranny to fit.
all that said the blocks are the same so it would be bolt up affair either way. they would not have made 2 different blocks for the light duty and medium duty engines. I will qualify all that by saying I have never had my hands on a T444E. so hopefully somebody knows for sure.
What you talkin bout Timmy? You have a T444E in your truck brother! Lay off the happy smoke son, lol
The blocks are the same both medium and light duty, so i would see no reason as to why a medium duty tranny wouldn't bolt up. wether it would fit the trans tunnel or not i dunno. But i do think the medium duty rigs have a diffrent rearend then our rigs do so you would have to get a custom driveline made to bolt up. Not to mention your probably gonna need to get a diffrent tranny module and so on and so fourth. If your lookin for a heavy duty tranny, your best bet is to get one from a dieselperformance tranny shop like ATS, BD, BTS, etc., Good luck!
what I meant was the T444E configuration. I know my engine is one but the IH motors have different accesories than the powerstrokes! also the medium duty truck trannies are nothing like our light duty trannies. The tranny will bolt up with the right clutch/bellhousing.
no hostility here. thats one draw back of forums is you can't hear "tone of voice". just clarifing since from my post I made it sound like we were only talking manual trans. to be honest I don't know what trans we are talking. but they all bolt up the same in medium duty stuff.
I was wondering how that was done. lmao. You guys are great. Sometimes, I get more information from "listening" to your "conversations" than I do searching for a topic.
throw a 10 speed and a eaton rear in that bitch, along with a detroit 8v 71. but then you might rip your frame in half if you dump that clutch. just my .02
