My left hub blew up yesterday. So I started checking around. Ford wanted $200 per side for new automatic hubs. NOT!
I checked Warn and first thing I run into is a note that they don't fit 1987-early 1988 Broncos. Great.
I check Superwinch......no problem with 1987. No one around here carries them. Finally find a mail order that will get them to me Sat. for $100 total, including shipping. They are on their way.
Anyone used Superwinch hubs. Thoughts. Have I made a poor decision?
If they REALLY are the flange style I'd like you to post back. I didn't know Superwinch made aftermarket replacements for these.
You didn't make a bad decision, well the only bad decision you made was to keep the flange style hubs.... I'd swap to internals personally. You'd need rotors, wb hub, spindles, stubs.... and that's all I can think of right now.
Not flange style apparently. In fact had 5 screw dust cap instead of 3 so I didn't have to do any conversion at all.
VERY simple. Ended up pulling hubs all the way off and replacing inner and outer wheel bearings....they must have already been done once as the races were perfect adn grease fairly fresh. Feel better knowing its all new now however.
Superwinch was much cheaper than Warn...that is for sure. Locally I would have paid $120 plus tax for Warn. I next day air shipped in my Superwinchs from Northern Auto for $85 total.
