IAC - Extremely High Idle

My 95 F-150 w/ 302 was surging some at idle and a little rough but still at the appropriate RPM. Pulled the IAC and cleaned w/ Seafoam and compressed air - very carboned up. Reinstalled IAC, cranked engine, and engine racing at idle - 1500-2000 RPM. Figured clean IAC mignt be stuck open so bought a new one and installed with same result - racing idle. Pulled the connector to the IAC, idle dropped, idleing smooth at about right RPM withoout the IAC hooked up - what gives? Any ideas about what is happenning/how to correct?

I would pull the throttle body and give it a good cleaning. If the IAC was carboned up you can bet the inside of your throttle body looks the same. I would also check your throttle position sensor. The fact that your truck idled down when you unhooked the IAC makes me want to believe the TPS might be out of wack....
