i changed oil on my 1999 navigator 5.4 intech with synthetic and now it leaks from what appears to be oil cooler? please help, it is only a drop evry time it is parked.

Being a '99 and 8 years old-I'd be suspect of the oil filter adapter to block gasket. They can leak over time,and if the gasket fails..it'll dump the entire oil capacity of the pan in mere moments if the engine is running when it happens. I've had this happen to me on the Tbird. Fortunately,I shut it down before any damage,and the repair was fairly easy-just messy and time consuming.

it has an external oil filter location in the front wheel well

That'd be an aftermarket add-on then-I'd check all of the hose connections.Most aftermarket filter reloaction kits use rubber hose and worm-gear clamps which are prone to leakage over time.
