limited slip question

limited slip question

I have a 8.8 diff. on my 88 f150 I installed a used l/s my question is do they make these in a 8 clutch version or only 6. I bought mine on ebay the previous owner says its a 8 clutch version but Im not sure, and if it is a 8 clutch where can I get a rebuilsd kit for it.

I think the 6 clutch version is stock and another clutch can be added on either side to beef it up. You would either have to buy another traction-lock rebuild kit or use the 2 best out of the old clutches.

Yup...you can stuff another clutch disc in there to tighten it up some more....

get yourself a ford motorsports parts book. its an aftermaket ford parts book which has alot of race parts from ford. you'll find rebuild kits for 8.8's and they have new carbon fiber disc kits which will probably work better than packing more disc's. its geared towards mustangs and lighting's but an 8.8 is an 8.8 the only difference in the truck and the mustang is the truck has 31 spline axles.
