Well I didn't get charged when I got off the plane in Minneapolis when I asked the cockpit crew what caused the extreme braking actions on landing ?....only to get the reply.....from the Captain
"Blame the New Guy......it was his first Hands-on landing."

I just said with a big smile: "okay thanks....Glad it turned out for him and us " and walked to my connection flight.

Any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Any landing you can walk away from and re-use the plane is a great one.

I think the guy should have been interviewed before any action was taken.

SECURITY: Do you have evidence to believe the pilot was actually drunk?
PASSENGER: No, I was taking a cheap shot at his hard landing.
SECURITY: Okay, don't do it again, or we'll do a full body cavity search. You can go.

We wouldn't need all these stupid security procedures if citizens weren't denied their 2nd amendment rights on a plane. Come to think of it, the WTC towers likely wouldn't have been hit had civvies been packing heat. Good civilians almost always outnumber criminals. Disarm the good civilians, and you give the advantage to the criminals.

You wanna talk about inducing a panic:

I was on a little regional jet yesterday morning, and when the flight attendant made the announcement that we were "initiating our descent into Denver", it ended up sounding (to me, and others, too) like "an issue with our descent into Denver". Took me a second to figure out what she'd said, but my blood pressure was rising while I figured it out...

I was once on a Boeing 777 going cross-country and there was a VERY sharp and sudden dive at 35000 feet. A lady who happened to be getting up at the time banged her knee and had to be wheeled off the plane. A guy in the bathroom hit his head but seemed to be OK. We were all shaken up.

The pilot came on and said that there was a problem with the autopilot that caused it. They shut it off and were flying manually for the rest of the trip.

Then I talked to a guy I used to play poker with who is a retired 777 pilot from United. He told me that the plane had three redundant autopilot systems, and if one doesn't agree with the other, it gets ignored and disabled. He said what most likely happened is that a careless pilot got up out of his seat and hit the stick with his knee and that's what caused the plane to drop.

The moral of the story - *always* wear your seatbelt when you're in your seat, even if the light's not on.

Oh yes...just what we need...bullets flying around airplanes. I would much rather not have Jim and Jack shooting at Aleed because he got up to pee and walked to the front of the airplane. I'm satisfied with air marshalls and pilots with guns, no more needed.

For those of you who have complained about a rough landing, seriously think about what is happening. Depending on the airplane, the pilots are attempting to get a several hundred thousand pound aluminum tube onto a fairly narrow and short strip of runway. On a good day, it takes a few thousand feet to stop most airliners, so the pilot can try and smooth it out all he wants, but if he gets X far down the runway and needs to get it down, he's going to do it safely and firmly.

Try smoothly planting something on the runway, then you can comment on the pilot's level of skill.

It was a joke. I agree with what bassproguy said.
