im looking to change all the fluids on our f450 psd. its got the 6spd manual and i think its the d80 rear end. anyways we are changing all the fluids and we need to know the size and type of oil thats to be used. im going to use redline if anyone has tried them and likes one of theres over the other im open for sugestions.
Have you checked the owners manual? It should state the specs and quantities for all of the fluids in the truck. I'm not trying to be a smart ***, so please don't take it that way.
No problem. I pulled my service manual, and here's what it says:
6 speed trans - 5.8 quarts of MERCON automatic trans fluid (not MERCON V)
Dana 80 axle - SAE 75W-90 QL synthetic gear lubricant - quantity not given, just to fill until it's level with the bottom of the filler plug hole.
Engine Oil - 15W-40 - 15 quarts
Engine Coolant - 33 quarts
Power steering fluid - MERCON auto trans fluid - quantity not given
Anthing else you would like for me to check, I can do.
