mostly fillings, etc. I did have one root canal and let me tell you, you gotta love that tooth a lot to want to go through one of those to keep it in your head.
Mine. the danged thing shattered after about 20 years and had to have the remains pulled anyhow. (Don't chew nuts/hard stuff with it!)
Wow that's funny. I'm going to the dentist for the first time in about 11 years tomorrow. I've had a really bad toothache since Saturday (thank God for big bottles of Advil), hopefully I won't have to get a root canal, doesn't sound like fun.
i had my two front teeth done at age 12, got in a bike wreck and busted the bottom off both of em.
the procedure is no big deal, I'm sure its gotten better over the years. it took a little getting use to, i cant feel cold or hot in my two front teeth, but i can in the ones around them.
good luck, its no worse then getting a cavity filled.
If the dentist/oral sureon is any good with the newer pain relief stuff, the worst part will be just having to hold your mouth open.
My guy is painless...piece of cake.
Edit: Painless that is, until I get the bill...next time I'll spend the same amount of money and go spend a long weekend in Mexico, and get the same dental work done too.

Had a root canal done about 7-8 years ago (last time at the dentist). Broke the outer side of my molar off. Could stick my tongue in the remains and part way into my gums. They pumped me full of so much novacaine I couldn't feel anything down to my upper chest. Spent the rest of the day drooling on myself.
Now my wisdoms are coming in, which I have no money to deal with (Lucky for me they're growing out of the side of my jaw, at a 45 degree angle, not hitting any other teeth, and not causing any pain). We'll see how THAT turns out .
My biggest deal about the root canal is the cost. Its gonna be $450 over what my ins pays. I've had several root canals & one implant so I'm not worried about the pain. My dentist is pain free. I just hate setting in the dentist chair for so long. I didn't take care of my teeth when I was young & I'm paying for it now.
You have nothing to worry about. Years ago, you had to do a few sittings with the drilling and filing and endo. and all that, but now its down to one sitting and my last one last summer took about 25 minutes from start to finish. It hurt for a couple days after that but now I feel like a million bucks. So dont sweat the RC.
Well the first procedure is done. This one did hurt. My dentist had to give me another pain shot about half way through the job. It took 3 hrs. I've had 7 root canals & 1 implant. This one hurt more than any of the others. I'm glad I got it done before it got infected. I might have needed to be put to sleep if it hurt more than it did today. I'm full of lortab now so its feeling much better. I'll never brag about my dentist being painfree again.
