Duraspark Harness

I am not having much luck locally finding a duraspark harness. Does anyone know of a source of the correct ends for the harness and I will build my own? I know painless sells a kit but the price seems really steap. Thanks

You can make your own harness using a schematic. You cut off the plugs that break and can cause electrical problems and solder in new wires to make all the connections. Then seal up your work and you're ready to go. Saw a schematic on a site and was easy to follow all the lines to ignition, coil, distributor and module. I have several duraspark distributors and modules with most having broken clips.

I have thought about that but i would like to take it apart at some time. I will likely tear the truck down a few years down the road and would like to do the duraspark upgrade before then. I am aslo geting ready to rewire the truck and thought it would be easyer and simpler at this time. I will think about that though. Anyone else have any ideas? thanks

Painless offers a Duraspark harness, part # 30812.

I got mine from the 84 F250 that the 351W came out of. I just spliced it into the 63 harness for start and run. Works fine. You should be able to cut one out of a junkyard truck.

Found a Duraspark ll (blue grommet) harness in salvage yard from 76 donor and if recall it has 3 pin connectors. Came across couple site on the Duraspark system may find helpful. Also, if unable to locate the harness, included a web site another member posted on simular topic where you can make up a quick disconnect running from the dizzy to the module. Believe they carry the Duraspark module, may be worth giving them a call inquire about harness.
