I'm a newbie here(1st post)and have to say that this is a great site.My thanks to all for lots of good info.
I have a 2005 F150 with the same problems.I've had the dealer change the actuators twice at considerable cost to me.When I tell them about the IWE solenoid they look at me with a dumb look on their mug.
I've always been a Ford truck guy,but this one has been problematic since I bought it new.First the rotors went at 7,000 miles, then at 12,000 miles the rear axle seal started to leak.
After that it has been continuous trouble with the actuators/vacum lines/hubs.
54,000 soft miles on it now,and Still these constant problems.Looks like I'll be trying my own repairs to the solenoid,as the dealer is useless and over priced.
Last week,I came pretty close to getting rid of it and switching brands for the first time in many many years.
If I can't get this front drive system fixed for good,I'm doubting that my next truck will be another Ford.I've supported them and stood by them(Ford)for many years but this is driving me crazy.

A big thanks again for the info and advice regarding the fix for the above problems.

Welcome to FTE.

You revived a pretty old thread, and that's alright I suppose as I'm guessing you used the search function. At least I hope you did.

Have you read through the helpful links thread?

"Duh! what was I thinking?,Oh now I know,I wasn't thinking.Must have been the residual effect of the styrene from the polyester resin I was using last night.
