can anyone tell me if it is possible to swap out my stock 04 grill for an 05-06 grill?

 

i dont think so i was looking in to do it to my 04 and they mount differently and i think that where the grill goes around the headlights is different.

 

Ebay has modified 05 grills for 99-04.
you have to change the bumper to use the 05 grill unmodded.

I bought the ebay grille from MKM customs for my 03' V10 crew. It took 5 minutes to swap and WOW what a huge difference! I also replaced all my emblems from http://www.fordemblem.com/ you really can't tell the difference now. Next up I will probably swap out the mirrors.

 

Do you guys know where to get a chrome '05 stock grille to replace a black one (XL). It's easy to find for the 99-04 on Ebay, but can't locate for the '05-'07. Thanks.

 

I imagine any online or local Ford parts dealer, but you'll likely pay handsomely for it!

As an aside, my XLT grill was cracked and needed replacing. I didn't want to spend the extra bucks for the chrome XLT version, so I bought a cheap ebay XL grill (about $45 bucks shipped) and painted it with duplicolor chrome paint. So-so results. From 5 feet away, it looks fine. Any closer and you can tell it doesn't have the sheen of the factory (also fake) chrome. If I where to do it again, I might just paint it body color.
