Question Fuel Filter???

Im trying to do my fuel filter for the first time, is there a wrench or adapter tool? Or any tricks to getting the old one out?

2002 PSD 7.3 Crew Short 6in lift

once i take the lid off, i just pull the filter out, it is a little tight and i wiggle it back and forth and it will come loose, im not sure why you need a wrench, do you mean the lid is on tight, if so i use my oil filter wrench to loosen the lid, you can also use a pair of pliers and use the handle to turn it off, hope this helps

thanks i just didnt know how tight they are on there and didnt want to break the lid. Its on pretty tight. I will try the pliers thank you

I just got this cool filter wrench through Genos when I bought filters.

This allows me to put the proper torque of 15 Ft Lbs on the lid.

No more using the pair of pliers for me.

Either Snap-On or Mac also makes a tool for it. I got mine on ebay for 15 bucks but chasing down a truck or a local tool house might have one....

For a fuel cap wrench, just use a piece of wood about 8" long X 1 1/2" wide and put 2 screws at 3 & 3/8" apart and let them sick out about 1/2"..
