trans temp sending unit for auto.
ok, been wanting to get my last gauge hooked up, Autometer trans. temp,
but was wanting to wait for a new tranni pan, but my buddy installed his in the factory sending unit port on the drivers side of tranny over the pan,
i know i have read about this before, but can some tell me the pros and cons, he says his take for ever to get to temp, and im sure there is a variance in temp since its not sitting the fluid.

What Alan said. I have always questioned the absolute accuracy of the guages anyway and the temp reading is going to be a relative reading to watch when you are towing. If it gets close to 200º F, watch it closely and back off.
