Stabilizer bar thickness
Anyone know the front and rear factory stabilizer bar thicknesses for a 2000 Expedition XLT? I'll be doing some towing in the near future. Should I replace them with Hellwigs? Is a "rear stabilizer bar" the same thing as a "rear anti-sway bar?"

Yes, some call them sway bars, others anti-sway bars and others say stabilizer bars. Growing up, we always called them sway bars.

I don't believe Hellwig makes a front sway bar for the 4x4. I have a 98 5.4 4x4, with a 3500 lb trailer, and had alot of problems with roll and sway, (both towing and not towing), but unfortunately I replaced the shocks and rear sway bar at the same time. Hellwig and Bilsteins. 1000% improvement. I use my Expy like a truck, and it rides like one with these upgrades. Stiff, but very quick response. But because I did both at the same time, I can't tell you which one had a bigger impact. What I can tell you is I am not afraid too pull the rig through the mountains of West Virginia at 85mph down the hills so I can be at 25 up em, and my wife hates the ride enough when not towing that she won't drive it, too stiff. She only complains when DRIVING it, never riding in it. I see it as a win/win.
