Help I’m trying to find some way to restore my top. Its looking pretty dull these days. I read in past post about using floor wax to help it shine has anyone tried it. And I don’t want to paint it. Any other suggestions.

I read the same post regarding floor wax, and I believe using Armor-All was also discussed. I can't say I've tried either, though I would imagine it could be messy, especially if the stuff bleeds down your quarter panels and rear glass after a rain. I know you mentioned that you didn't want to paint it, but that seems to be the popular choice. Some have reported using spray cans, though I had my top shot with the rest of the truck when I had it repainted. No more worries. The only thing I may do different in the future is, perhaps, to sand the textured finish smooth and have it painted to allow me to wax the paint on the top, just as you would a camper shell on a pickup. I realize that this doesn't directly answer your question, but Krylon or Rust Oleum may be the best quick fix.
This may not help now as I don't know about restoring it but I have always used Murphy's Oil Soap to wash the top of my Bronco and have had no probs with oxidation or looking shabby. Once a year I use Woolite and a scrub brush to scrubb all of the winter gunk off. I have done this since it was a year old. You may want to try it I know it Wont hurt. My top is also white so I may have just lucked out on not having to restore it.

Hey thanks for the input. the top im doing is on my girlfriends truck, hers is a black top. so everything shows up. never use that back to black stuff on a black top. big mistake there using that stuff.
(spade) i got some turtle wax tire shine stuff. its in a liquid form almost looks like car wax and it dries up pretty good. is this the same as the meguiars, or are you talking about the spray on stuff?

Sound close. The meguiars is thick. I heard about using it on one of the bronco forums, I can't remember which one. You might be able to do a search. When I started my top was a light blue now it is a dark green,( like my truck.)It looks great.

That is not too far from me. I am just surprised that your top is that bad as I haven't noticed that many in bad shape around here. I did say that I had not noticed many. good luck

My top was black but had faded to a grey color. I took it off, cleaned it good and srayed it with clear coat, it has been about a year know and it still looks way, way better than before. If you do this, spray it on thick as you go so that it soaks into the top, that way when it dries it will be good and dark looking like when the top is wet. Don't apply a tack coat or spray it thin, or it will still appear faded and just look a little slicker.

Im Not quite ready to paint yet or even take it out and have someone else do it.
But i did but the tire shine stuff on and it looks great and i holding up after a washing. The thing is that you dont want to scrub it, i just hosed it off and it looked good as new again. now this solves her top problem, now on to new problems. what kinda car wash are yall guys using. Between old ladies black bronco and my red EB im getting lots of water spots, everytime i wash them, i have to wax.
witch really doesnt matter on mine its been down sick for about a month now with repairs on going, never fails fix on and another comes along.
