1976 360 bogging
bogging has been a problem for a while.... right now the truck starts like a dream and idles great it when i get to about 1/3 throttle i hear it just that sucking air type of bogg then once u get it down a alittel further it go's good but then once u get past 1/2 throttle it starts to bogg and back fire through the carb.....
it only boggs when in gear. i can sit in the drive way and slowy rev it up like i was driving and nothing will happen
now earlyer i had this prolblem with bogging a littel bit different. the same thing at 1/3 throttle but it could go to the floor with no bogging but when i turned off the motor it kinda kept running and clatering "after turning off the ignition" so i leaned it out and it no longer does that
what do u all think i am stumped ?

If the bog occurrs at 1/3 throttle you're off the idle circuilt, so the number of turns the idle adjusment screws are out won't matter a hill of beans.
The throttle shafts may be worn and allowing air in. Check for leaks with a can of carb cleaner.
Could also be that the accelerator pump is shot. Are you getting a good squirt of gas into the top of the carb when you open the throttle?
1) Vacuum leaks
2) Carb shaft leak on either side
3) Accelerator pump rod for proper indexing
4) Vacuum Advance diaphram for leaking or being seized
5) Engine timing
6) Fuel pump pressure
7) Replace Fuel filter
Make sure the vacuum system is completely sealed and all the mechanicals are done to spec.
then report back
