Problem with laptop
I got brand new laptop from school about 1.5 years ago. And tonight all of the sudden left bottom side of the screen became kind of blurry red. Its not completely red, just little bit, enought to be notices.
Anyone knows what the problem might be and what should I do?

Yeah, I tried restarting computer ... didn't help.
I don't think there is a magnet near the screen because I always keep laptop in the same place. And I didn't had this problem before.
Tech support is closed now (its 11 p.m.), but I plan to visit them first thing tomorrow morning.

Screen failure is probably the most common problem with laptops. Do a google search for "laptop screen repair", you may be able to diagnose and repair your own and save some $$, if you're handy with a screwdriver.

Right now I can hardly any red on screen. Its almost completely gone. I wish it stayed this way, but I doubt it will.
Laptop should still be under warranty (School replaced wireless card recently for free).

Hopefully you have a warranty.. LCD screen repair can be costly.
one thing that goes wrong with the screens is a bad power inverter.. It is a small circuit board that is usually at the bottom of the screen behind the plastic trim. Unfortunately they are hard to get by themselves. I have gotten one off of ebay that worked great.
I don't think this is your problem though.. The power inverter usually affects the whole screen and makes it dim..from what I have seen..

Its HP Compaq NW8240. Its kind of pricey, I had to pay over $3,000 for it over period of 6 semesters.

Also if it was bought through the college there should be a warranty. Ask the IT help Desk.. They should be able to help.. They may have an extra screen they can swap for you...

Yeah, I'll probably go there either tomorrow morning or on Monday after classes.
Over $3,000 for a laptop and this is what I get? My old Compaq Presario costed me $300, and I used it for almost 6 years without problems.

It is amazing laptop. According to my school, only US government gets better laptops.
