You stole my exhaust, I knew once I did lighting style everyone would copy, it's tough being a trend setter. I hope you weren't to tight to put a good AEM dryflow filter on there so you don't have to oil it, oil cost money you know ha ha. And it does nasty things to the maf as well, just don't tell me you put one of those "let all the dirt through" k&n's on there. It does look good however, but it should as you copied alot from me ha ha. Good job, it looks great, yeah, what motor you got?
The original carb spacer was a 3/4" block of plywood. I don't remember who the car belonged to, but they needed to raise the carb for linkage clearance problems, and used the plywood. In doing so, they found additional torque and horsepower. jd
Hows come I don't see no heat sheild on that thing? Thats right, you have to buy a name brand kit to get a heat sheild or does auto zone sell those to ha ha.
It has a 4.0 OHV, and i love the sound the exhaust makes, like i had said before it sounds like a cummings diesel when i get on it, definately not a rice burner with a tip! The filter is a K&N knockoff specter i believe was the name, i just liked the color lol. The intake makes a really nice growl under the hood.
Hmm, The stock air box has been removed leaving the hole in the inner fender. The inlet to the filter is directed into it. There is a lot of air outside air flow moving through the engine compartment. Crosse fingers LOL
Yeah, the outside air openning is right there at the filter, so when it's moving it should be getting a rush of cool outside air. However a heat sheild would help as well.
Below the area where your filter is (same as mine) is a hole through the inner fender on my '94...I ran a length of PVC with some fun bends down there and made a sort of ram air, then cut up a peice of metal and sealed it around the filter to make it a true cold air intake.
