well i have a little extra money right now....id like to putheaders on but that voids the warranty, so i was looking at a different MAF sensor (not sure if that voids it or not, but i can always put the stock back on) my question is, is it worth the money? Do you really gain any power or mileage from them? Right now i have the AEM Bruteforce intake, magnaflow exhaust and bamachips tuner. It was either that or the small bullbar for the front...
I'd say no. Without supercharging or a turbo, you will not be maxing out the capability of the maf. In other words, your engine can not use as much air as the stock MAF can flow. I would suggest a 75mm throttlebody and or underdrive pulleys.
I tried a bigger maf to go with my 75 mm throddle body. It was a waste of money. I can't tell any difference with the stock maf or the 80 mm one. I just ordered a sct tuner.Troyer Performance advised me to use the stock maf. I get good mpg with the bigger tbody. I only lose mpg when I drive the truck hard. Spend your money on pullies or efans. Efans will give you more mpg. I got about 2 mpg better after my efan install.
Im intrested in the difference in the stock clutch fan and the electric fan as well, the local say the efan is the best upgrade for horse power and bottom end take off power, plus it saves gas milage, which make and model will best fit the 2001 4x4 lariat..thanks..
