I have been looking to buy a carburated 300 6 with a c6 and a np205 that is out of a 84 or 86 bronco and I was wanting to know if any of you could tell me if they will run on their own with out any exterior computers or anything like that
If you mount a older carb and dist on the engine , yes. If you use the original carb and dist, no on the 86, not sure on the 84.
If you go look at the engine, see if it has a vacuum line to the distributor. If it has a vacuum line, yes it will work, though you do need to grab the duraspark II ignition module. If it has no vacuum line to the dist, then you will need all the sensors and computer for it to run correctly.

I have an '84 F250 with the 300 six + 4 spd + NP208. It's a
Calif. model but it does have the computer + sensors on it.
I'm not sure if the other 49 states required this in '84 but
CA did.
