How come with a diesle programer you can change the tune on the fly, while my edge wont allow me to do that. And it takes like 4 minutes to program or what ever. What is up with that. I love my edge, it has made my truck run so much better, but somtimes i just want to bump up the shift pressure or tune it a bit.
It would be so much easyer to tune it my self and adjust things the way i want if i didnt have to wait 4 minutes between trys. Anybody have any info on why this is.
I cant help you out there, but I do have a question for you. how much did you get your programmer for? In what ways does it help your truck run better?
Okay lets put it this way, i went from doing brake stands with both tires just turning slowley and not makeing any smoke to blowing white smoke with both tires for about 20 ft.... it has so much more power, plus all the other things that come with the edge evolution.. the dash readouts are so nice... it tells me my avg and instant mpg and anything else i want to.. i paid about $345 on ebay i belive. that was shipped to my door.
i have know idea if its better than the others because i have never used them but i do highley recommend the edge to anybody...its sweet.

With the edge to get that much power are you running 87,89,93 grade gas
and which cold air intake do you have, cheked out you gallery nice truck ..I see you have the 4.6L thats good, sounds like a good upgrade, Do you have the E-FANS as well, lots of people will say its the best upgrade to go along with the rest of mods...Yep that would be trick to be able to shift on the fly..It takes me 10min to program the superchip micro tuner11, Ive been running 87 octane and mostly messing with shift points, I did run 93 and the power tuner for about a month and wow , what a difference..But if you tow it needs to be reprogram for torque..sweet tuner..and easy to use..

I use the 93 octane, i noticed some diff with the 87 tune but not enough to smoke the tires off. the 93 tune will do it though. No i dont have efans, thought about them but i can seem to ever find a good kit to do it. My tunner only takes about 4 min max, i can have it retunned long before i ever get my truck full of gas,(since i retune it when i change the octane level of the gas).
The cold air kit is a cheapo off of ebay. Payed like 60 bucks shipped. Not as nice as i would like but it seems to work okay.
Thanks for the compliment, it is a good lookin truck. Im actually going to do a 5.4l swap this summer. Picked up a good cheap 5.4l for 350 bucks out of a friends bone yard. That motor with my tuner and mods ought you get the job done nicley.
